Product Description
Enjoy more than a hundred games on your smartphone with PhoneJoy!
Phonejoys are Bluetooth enabled gamepads, which currently work for most Android 2.2+ and Windows devices.
Pocketables.net
Our controllers employ the standard Bluetooth protocol RFCOMM, which is unlike the L2CAP protocol (which is used by PlayStation 3 and XBOX controllers for instance) supported by all modern smartphones of today. Therefore Phonejoys work in theory on nearly all Android mobile phones*, even those such as HTC and Samsung phones which usually face problems with other controllers such as the Nintendo Wiimote. No root/jailbreak is required in most cases.
Every Phonejoy Analog comes with 14 Buttons (D-PAD, Select, Start, Cross, Triangle, Square, Circle, L1, R1, L2, R2) similar to that of the original PlayStation controller. The Phonejoy responses without any noticeable delay, and range can be depending on your device up to several meters. Every Phonejoy comes with an internal Lithium-ion battery which can be charged through the supplied miniUSB cable. The battery usually lasts several days of moderate gaming and has a lifetime of several years.
On top of that the controller is supplied with a stand that can be used to hold your mobile phone. For Tablets we recommend buying a bigger and sturdier stand, however.
Using the RFCOMM Bluetooth protocol Phonejoys connect to mobile devices via the Serial Port Profile (SPP), which is supported on Android by the Bluez-IME app that is available on the Android Market and on Windows PCs by our software, which is available to download on our site. For further setup instructions please head to our “Support” page.
Bluez-IME allows a gamepad experience with all apps that support Android’s Input Method Editor (IME). Our gamepad is compatible with more than 100 Android games such as GTA III, Shadowgun, Samurai II, Riptide, Sonic CD and Zenonia 4 and many more. Phonejoy, too, supports plenty of known emulators such as Gameboy Color A.D., FPse, SuperGNES, John NES, MAME4droid, GENPlusDroid, Mupen64Plus and N64oid among many others.
Bluez-IME can also emulate Xperia Play’s gamepad controls which in theory should grant Phonejoy access for more than 200 Xperia Play supported games. The support of such is not fully developed at this stage yet however. It is expected that in the coming months more and more games will emerge that support wireless gamepads such as the Phonejoy.

Very good controller, have used with windows and tried to use with a HTC Inspire non-rooted and bluez-ime did not work properly.
It works amazingly with windows and iOS support will be out by june with Blutrol 2.0 by Roger Wetzel and Matthias Ringwald.
